Crunchyroll has announced a major move into legitimate distribution of anime with a deal with TV Tokyo, Viz co-parent Shueisha, and Pierrot, major producers in the Japanese anime industry.

FUNimation Entertainment has partnered with the online video service Hulu to launch high-quality anime episodes of its titles on Hulu.com. Titles include Mushi-shi, xxxHolic, Peach Girl, and other FUNimation releases.

Amazon Japan KK, which runs the "Amazon.co.jp" Internet bookstore in Japan, has announced its Blu-ray Disc (BD) title sales (including pre-orders) rankings for the first half of 2008 (Dec 1, 2007, to May 31, 2008). Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan) Inc's "Resident Evil - Trilogy Box" topped in the 1H, according to the announcement. This title was released in the BD and DVD formats at the same time, but BD sales significantly outperformed DVD sales, Amazon said...

With school out children often suffer from boredom, so the Athens-Limestone Public Library is giving them something new and fun to do. Saturday will be the library's first Anime Fest for anyone age 8 and older.
