A show incorporating Japanese anime and hip-hop with the look and mood of Blade Runner and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome sure doesn’t sound like a Broadway musical. But that is exactly how Tim Dang has re-imagined Pippin, the 36-year-old Tony award winner, for an East West Players production opening Wednesday, May 14.
